RW,

RE: <This may be about it on the rally, big upticks in interest rates, I think we've entered a bond bear market and that will be brutal. Went straight short the following "dark side plays" (great term, mind if I borrow it?)today: CFC, GS, MER, RDN, DE, MBI. Easily recognizable theme wouldn't you say? >

Ford and GM have huge exposure to interest rates and consumer finance. Of course, they also are tremendously leveraged (both financially and operationally) to auto sales, which in my opinion have peaked. Have you considered these as possible shorts?

I was listening to one of the business programs the other day, and they were interviewing Carlos Ghosn of Nissan. Very interesting. He made some kind of comment in effect saying that with the special financing the car companies aren't selling cars, they are selling deals. How true.

P.S. Talking about Nissan...this new G35 Coupe sounds very interesting, and it looks great, with the exception of the rear tail lights. It is getting fantastic reviews in the car magazines.
