Message 18432317 You got it. Right on the head of the nail. The problem is that about 1/6 of the registered voters are all that is needed to secure the Republican nomination. And there are quite enough nuts in this state to push another nut over the top. And it keeps happening. The republican Party used to be a going business in this state, and not so long ago. Remember Reagan? But even before Reagan, the GOP's record was interspersed with periodic kamikaze attacks. Remember the last loser the repubs put up against Davis (forgot his name) Dan Lungren headed the previous suicide charge. If republicans run another far right, pro-life, anti-gay candidate with a hint of corporate corruption ties that person will lose regardless of how bad the dem selection is. My issue with the republicans in this state is they KNOW THIS- this has happened repeatedly in the last 10 years, California doesn't like social conservatives period and this will not change. The Republicans in this state better figure that out or they will go extinct. Yes, Davis is the Republican's fault. Nobody made Republicans in the primary pick Simon instead of Riordan.
