I reviewed numbers for a half dozen technology companies over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised to see that most of them have been growing free cash flow per share quite nicely in the last two years. That's particularly notable considering the economic climate and the decline in revenue. Some took a FCF dip last year and are showing a nice rebound this year. Others are growing more consistently including last year.

Followers of NTAP: This is a company I don't follow closely but might start doing so. I'd appreciate it if someone could save me the time of trying to figure out why NTAP's CAPEX in Q402 was $261 million, more CAPEX than in the previous 5 1/2 years combined. That really put a glitch in the free cash flow and I'd like to get an idea of what justifies or at least explains such a huge aberration. Thanks in advance.
