I think the act of cloning one's genes is ultimately selfish, but in no way do I feel that I am reproduced in my children. They are both fine people, and based on good results I could say that I'm a good father and a good progenitor. However, it's hard to see that I had anything to do with it. They are both vastly different from both me and my wife. My greatest pleasure is seeing that values we tried to implant in our children ultimately surfaced when needed, even after we despaired that they were rejected. There is no greater satisfaction than that.
