Hi LindyBill; Interesting column by Friedman. I have a comment on one small part of it: "By steamrolling Kuwait in 1990, Saddam looked strong. Today, he appears to be weak, on the defensive and surrendering to everything the U.N. and U.S. are demanding."

While Saddam did look strong in 1990, it was only for a few months. And today, while he does look weak, and he is surrendering to everything the UN asks, he is not only ignoring US requests, but instead still has his soldiers shoot at our aircraft.
