The US is currently constructing the USS Ronald Reagan, a Nimitz class nuclear powered aircraft carrier, total construction costs estimated to be $4.3 billion in 1994 dollars.

Then there's the cost of the aircraft, all the other operating expenses, and the cost of decommissioning the carrier, which is much higher for a nuclear powered carrier than conventional.

Annual operating costs of a Nimitz class carrier is about $235 million in 1993 dollars.
