There are means to make better use of Citizenship. I was born in Brazil and hold a passport of the country. It is convenient.

I don't have pay taxes because the tax system is a joke. It works for my advantage good. The passport allows me to travel to most countries in the world easier than most people. That because no one want to immigrate to Brazil illegally (or even legally). That because we have a system that functions like that: You work. You eat. You don't work. You don't eat. You don't eat you die! It's the best dissuasion against useless migrants.
Secondly, we are known to be friendly. Not get involved in other people's troubles. Not to be trouble makers. Play the best soccer in the world. Being fun loving and having lots of pretty women. Yeah, it is an stereotype but as long as people believe on that we are more welcome than other peoples.

I don't a damn about borders working wherever there are people willing to contract me for an accepted rate. Had my nationality forced me to be serious about taxes, I would have most probably opted out citizenship. The Brits do a similar thing: They hold a EU passport but not to pay taxes, they declare their residences elsewhere.
