Michael, I do value the way people use language and think that it reflects what's going on in their heads more than what their words represent of the reality they think, or pretend, they bear witness to.

I am also cynical about what people are reported as having said, because my experience of journalists is that their reportage generally has only a passing acquaintance with the truth of the situation. Neither are governments, including the USA government, particularly careful about telling the truth. Many people around the world rate politicians' truthfulness at very low levels. I believe with very good reason.

I haven't really figured out just what's up in North Korea, but I take Vollertsen's reports as wildly exaggerated. He's pushing a big barrow.

I'm not really interested in building a case against him. His language is too wacko for me to bother. Calling North Korean religious repression genocide is dishonest, or ignorant, and I can't be bothered with wading through his dishonest or ignorant stuff further.
