Bombardier Wins a $70-Million Order for the Delivery of
Double-Deck Power Cars to the Paris Transport Authority

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--JANUARY 13, 2003 - 10:16 EST
A consortium comprised of Bombardier
Transportation and Alstom has received a firm order for 14
trainsets, comprised of five MI2N-type double-deck cars each,
from the Paris Transport Authority (RATP). The total value of the
order is approximately $240 million Cdn (147 million Euros).
Bombardier Transportation's share, which is valued at
approximately $70 million Cdn (43 million Euros), calls for the
production of the 42 intermediary carbodies. The vehicles are
schedule to enter revenue service in March 2004.

This order, which is a follow-on order to a contract signed in
1992, brings to 215 the total number of MI2N carbodies ordered by
RATP to date. The vehicles will be used on the Paris Regional
Express Network's A line.

Jacques Lamotte, Executive Vice-President, Bombardier
Transportation, commented on the occasion: "Bombardier is proud
of this new order, as it once again bears witness to the trust
that a high-profile operator like RATP has invested in us.
Production will be entirely carried out in our Crespin (France)
facility, concurrently with work to fulfil the order awarded in
July 2001 to supply the future MF2000 Paris Metro".

Crespin site in the Valenciennes region, where it employs more

the TER2N NG regional transport railcars. In December 2001,
Bombardier Transportation signed a contract with SNCF for the
supply of 500 TER (Regional Express Trains) of the Autorail
Grande Capacite (AGC) type for the French regions.
