>>I am fascinated by the brain's "hardware" (organic parts, neurons, hormones, etc) and "software" (language, culture, experiences, etc). Especially interesting is how hardware affects behaviour.<<

The molecular revolution and its relation to behavior is fascinating- and powerful. All of the assumptions we made when I was a grad student have been proven, at best, limited. Thanks for the recommendation.

But Zonder- You repeatedly miss my point that the Israelis have tried negotiating with Arafat and have been rejected. Barak's proposal was a surprisingly (to me) generous one, and it got nowhere. Arafat lost the ball. You also have not responded to my allegation that the feudal Arab oil states, and the Iranian theocracy need to blame Israel for their troubles (I cited the Ayatollah) to deflect attention from their own failures to Israel, and therefore support and need terrorism and its response.

Re: God. Opinions almost certainly won't change, but I want more atheists coming out of the closet. Interestingly, I became more militant as my younger son became orthodox. I'm not sure who's acting out <vbg>. Until gays came out of the closet, they were condemned. Now, their position is respectable.
