What causes the inclination? There is clearly a biological content. But I'd suggest that the cultural bias of early Tahitians to light or white skin as a primary indicator of beauty and sexual attraction suggests that culture can also be a strong factor...

As I said, our sexual inclinations are likely influenced by both nature and nurture. Both are powerful forces-- too powerful to simply dismiss. I think, however, that because our very existence is dependent upon heterosexuality and since our essential biological identity is directly rooted in heterosexuality, nature is very likely the greater influence toward heterosexuality than nurture. Indeed, I think it is largely because of nature that we quite generally nurture as we do and why we generally scorn behavior foreign to nature's scheme.
