So you say that there is an Israeli occupation in question and that the Palestinians are not staking a historical claim or something on lands that were conquered by Israel?

Sure they are staking a claim to all of Israel, zonder. If they had really recognized Israel, then we would have just had a border dispute, and we would have had a peace settlement by now. Instead the talks fell apart over "right of return" -- to Israel, not to Palestine. What is that if not a historical claim?
