Hi John. I got your post last week, and haven't gotten around to responding. Where to put money in the market- I'd put a chunk in Tax Free bonds, top quality, the spread between tax frees and taxables are at a historically low divergence (the spread is very little). I think tax free bonds will outperform taxable bonds.
In the taxable world, I'd look to lock in some 6 1/2 % yield in 5-10 year BBB corporates. I'd put some money in good utility funds. I think that will be a shining sector for the next 6-18 months.
Other than than, I'd be quite cautious. some money in good techs, and some in not so good techs that have been pummeled to ridiculously low prices. in 3-5 years you should have 3-6 baggers in some of them.
I'd also give my money to mutual fund managers who have performed well over the past 3 years.
if you want more specific ideas, pm me. larry
