Then, yeah, it has to go, because that is never achievable. Not in the real world. Physics, as good as it is, cannot achieve that.

There are improvements possible in current evidentiary requirements.

If DNA evidence is available, it has to be tested.

Eyewiteness testimony, known to be unreliable, has to be corroborated.

Fingerprint analysis is to sloppy. Standards have to be developed and it must be proven thgat they were applied.

But if "beyond a reasonable doubt" is converted to "absolutely certain", then we can just shut down our police forces and courts.

And take the consequences.
