I don't think other asset classes will lead. The "tech revolution" may not have been all it was made out to be, but it has been extremely growth-oriented. And not just for the tech industry. It has improved sales inventory management, reduced lead times for delivery, improved personnel decisions, etc. The list is endless. As productivity continues to increase due to increased technology, more technology will be needed.
The problem with tech was the claim that the "cycle was dead". It isn't and wasn't. It has been evened out in many other industries, though.
There are still a considerable number of industries that have only dipped their big toe into the tech pool. I suspect there is much more to come.

But I expect the mania to be less maniacal this time.
