I remember the 70's this is nothing like it

Inflation has a lot of inertia. Takes awhile to get moving, but once the psychology gets going it's hard to stop. The last secular bear was from '66 to '82, so three years in would put us about at the '69 point - inflation getting started, but with all of the '70s ahead.
