JB I have Waterhouse. They were recently ranked number 1 by Smart Money. $12 upto 5,000 shares. Their Web Broker site is very easy to use. If you can't get in call your account officer and they will execute your trade for the $12. If you trade by phone the normal cost is $35. If you trade via an account officer the cost is $45. Margin rates are reasonable at I think 1/2 - 1% above broker call. Best part of deal is that on their web site they give you access to S&P's stock reports and Zack's earnings estimates. They also call you to confirm executed trades and automatically send you a trade confirmation in the mail a few days later. They also send you notices about GTC orders. When they first set up Web Broker I had a few problems about getting in and slow screen updates. Last few months everything has been peachy. Customer service is FIRST CLASS. They honestly treat their customers very well. Their cash management account is excellent - free checking, free ATM (but banks may charge - someone told me that Citibank machines do not - I have not used ATMs), free bill payment if you make a single trade each month (though again I have not bothered to set this up). $12 expires October 1998 when it will go up to $25. However note that initially $12 was to expire in April then August (?) now October. Perhaps they will extend indefinitely! Oh most importantly trades execute very very fast. I have had no problems with execution. In fact some of my limit trades have executed unbelievably well. Even before they had Web Broker I had a Waterhouse account and was very pleased even then. They do not pull any sheninigans and have been very very HONEST. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
