What the "Kazak guy" meant was that in the chaos that followed the break-up of the Soviet Union a lot of things got lost in the shuffle. The "Kazak guy" who had spent nine years in the concession area and had been with the former Soviet Ministry of Oil ( and was a geologist) could very easily have been suggesting that he had knowledge of there being oil that all the post-break-up new players in the Kazak government could not have had access to due to their lack of involvement in the Soviet regime. Understand that this was a very chaotic period. Once the government of the newly independant state settled in, the officials were able to closely examine data concerning the existance of oil.
I have got to tell you conspiracy theorists that I find your paranoia truly amusing. Now, we are supposed to deal with the possibility that the Kazak government, Huddleston & Co.,the executives of MSUP, AIPN (70% owner of MSUP), Med Shipping (5% owner of MSUP), , DANK (10% owner of MSUP), and the German geophysical company (15% owner of MSUP) all conspired to "salt" the fields in question. You find such an absurd notion "interesting", Kenneth? Give me a break!

Cheers...Faris
