I do not think we are giving up what it means to be liberty loving Americans. I think we are adjusting frequently shifting lines, so as to allow greater latitude to law enforcement and security services, during a period of emergency. Besides, you are not quoting "the wisdom of our Founding Fathers", but a bunch of lovely sentiments that lie examined in their relevance to current circumstances. Most of the Founders would, for example, be appalled at the degree we have tilted procedures in criminal investigations towards the defendant, at the expense of truth and justice.........
