That wouldn't do it for me because i don't believe unilateral action by any single nation is wise, or in anyone's best interest - especially it is not in the longterm interests of the unilateral actor ... but modify it to an alliance of reasonably democratic nations going in there and making a peace and then keeping that peace, and i would do what i could to encourage the ministers of war of my countries to support this action ... physically get between the two parties, disarm them both, tell the zionists ok that's enough land at pre-'67 borders to take for your religiously based state, if you absolutely must have one of those[!], and tell the palestinian arabs that hey, the tactics you've been using will not work for you, time to try something completely different, and if either of you two sub-classes of idiots uses violence we will shoot you on the spot, because in so doing you are endangering all of us on this little planet
But more carrot than stick, to the extent possible ... foster education, trade, industry, tourism ... education sans the teaching of hatred, travel sans tanks and explosives belts, or else it's straight back to the stick
And as diversionary entertainment, because man cannot live by bread alone, circuses feed the soul - take the Arafats and Sharons, say the most bloody-minded half of one per cent on both sides, stick them into a secure concrete and steel cage perhaps five hundred metres square, and donate them lots of free recreational hand grenades |
