"This XB System deployment shows how Com21's innovative solution enables major global operators to stay ahead of advancing technology, and do so cost-effectively," said George Merrick, Com21's president and CEO. "This deployment is the first in what we believe will be many large-scale deployments of our XB System worldwide."

The Com21 XB System, a robust end-to-end DOCSIS system, enables a smooth operational and cost-efficient migration path for cable operators transitioning to advanced DOCSIS solutions. Providing full support for both DOCSIS and Euro-DOCSIS environments, the XB System combines the DOXcontroller 1000XB CMTS, DOXport modems, and the recently enhanced Com21 NMAPS XB (Network Management and Provisioning System) capabilities, including advanced TDMA support, virtual LANs, and superior performance for advanced symmetrical data rate applications.

The DOXcontroller 1000XB CMTS takes full advantage of already defined advanced physical layer features as well as new noise cancellation technologies to deliver the most efficient utilization of the upstream spectrum. The hardware platform itself has been designed to scale to the most demanding needs of the operator from a packet classification and features perspective. The processing power of the XB System is capable of growing with the emerging needs of cable operators worldwide.
