the s&p500 is approaching the 200dma...and should coincide with the major onslaught of earnings releases next week and the week after (about half will be reporting).. the other thing you have to think about is that 401k contributions are beginning again this month. that could explain some of the seemingly mindless reaction to some pretty bad economic news...and may continue.
