RE: K-Mart
A Consumers point of view....Mine <ggg>.....we had ( closedwithin last year) a Super Kmart, located very close to our house, in a very prime area. I wen't when it first opened, but frankly ended up getting frustrated with them and quit going...I actually went out of my way to drive further to go to wall-mart. I found the K-Mart super store to be very unorganized...the layout was bad, the folks that worked there were not pleasant and nor did they care much about customer service...if you asked somebody something, they acted like they were being put out. Items were not where they were supposed to be, pricing was always difficult as sometimes things were priced, and sometimes they weren't...trying to get a price, was not worth the time and hassle...wallmart on the otherhand, was far more organized, the people that worked there were always friendly and willing to help. I rarely wandered around trying to find a price on anything. At K-Mart, they would have very limited number of cashiers, which meant long waits to check out...wall mart always seemed to have most or all their cashiers open.....additionally, in the last year or two, sams clubs, BJ's, Costco and etc, have popped up everywhere....better pricing, better organized.....an easy shopping experience no matter what you are looking for......So, I personally avoid all K-Marts...seems when I travel and am forced to go to one, I always remark on how it's the same in this store as every k-mart I go to....I go out of my way to go to wallmart, bj's, sams and etc, depending on what I am looking for and try and avoid k-mart at all costs....Thats just my opinion as a consumer...if they dont change DRASTICALLY, I see the other companies mentioned taking market share from K-mart...again, just my opinion...doesnt mean the stock doesnt shoot up 200%, anything can happen......could be alot of spec bargain hunters looking for a dead cat bounce which could give the stock a temporary lift, but I wouldn't hold it overnight if they were your shares<ggg> |
