My father in his wedding pictures has a cigarette in his hand. Not just at the reception, but in one of the formal pictures as well. It sticks out now as vividly as would a syringe in the arm, but at the time it was normal, they were given cheap smokes in the army, everybody smoked. He quit when I was born, but fidgetted (sp?) forever with his hands. Once a smoker, always a smoker, whether you smoke or not. Myself, I quit.......regularly. Not this week-end, though, it's party time, big bathtub race here, beer, cigarettes, and old friends.
To use Galbraith's quote; "In the long run, we shall all quit smoking."
