<<BTW, is it my imagination or is there a widespread belief that QLGC will say something 'pretty' tonight? >>

I think that belief is pretty widespread, yes. QLGC has a great history of not disappointing on the earnings front, and I doubt they will tonight. Then again, they don't hype... and their honesty sometimes gets them the slapdown (which often has been deserved, of course). Unless QLGC is clearly troughing or peaking on earnings day, I run far away and watch from a distance. As we Freeps say "14 times bitten, 15th time shy."

SOX piercing the 50 dma here. Dow made a lower high vs. Monday. Banks reversed off 800 again (and BAC's comments today weren't wildly bullish, seems to me). Lotta daily uptrend lines broken. Still... when it all starts to seem clear is when it's easiest to get blindsided. Probably all hinges on reaction to IBM and MSFT on Thursday. Place yer bets.
