Trojan Technologies signs $500,000 deal with London Trojan Technologies Inc TUV Shares issued 21,785,632 Jan 14 close $9.85 Wed 15 Jan 2003 News Release Mr. Allan Bulckaert reports TROJAN TECHNOLOGIES SELECTED TO PROVIDE UV DISINFECTION SYSTE ... The City of London has completed its design and has selected Trojan to provide the ultraviolet (UV) disinfection equipment for the Elgin drinking water plant. Valued at more than $500,000, the project calls for the delivery of four Trojan UVSwift units. The equipment will be installed this summer. The water treatment plant is located near Port Stanley and serves a population of approximately 94,000 people. It treats up to 90 million litres (20 million gallons) of water a day and services the communities of St. Thomas, Aylmer, Bayham, central Elgin, Malahide, Southwold and parts of London. Trojan's UV systems effectively destroy water-borne pathogens including E. coli, giardia and Cryptosporidium. As a result of the Walkerton tragedy and the inquiry that followed, there is now legislation in Ontario requiring multibarrier treatment of drinking water. "Increasingly, communities are recognizing that UV is an important component of such systems because the technology is highly effective and cost-efficient," said Allan Bulckaert, president and chief executive officer of Trojan.
