in 2002, natgas rose in price by 50%, totally unnoticed
my broinlaw commented to me in December that natgas utility bills did not reflect this, so no big deal
that is the prevalent opinion
no big deal

I said that large supplies had been stored for months, preparing for the winter, and prices reflected past costs, not present, certainly not future
he doubted it, but he knows everything about everything
I asked him to get back to me in a few months

WashDC gas bills are up 300%, reported by TonkaMan
this is a preview
the big story will be enormous cost rises in utility bills
and the public wont weather it well, so to speak
numerous threats to consumers:
- lost jobs
- state income taxes
- city property taxes
- natgas bills, electric bills
- and more

but the quiet story so far is largely unreported
natural gas in California will be the starting salvo
why there?
because they typically fuch up the pricing equilibrium of supply & demand, all for the greater good
I mean for the spread misery known as socialism

it will start in California
they dont have rough winters, but they do consume gas

personally, I give off gas
I am told in large volumes
detectable through walls in the early morning hours
I once had a nice woman rent a room under my house outside Boston
another man Calvin rented a different room, in my 3-bedroom house
Calvin was a hoot, still keep in touch with him in Daytona
after a month, she inquired as to what the strange noises were, which emanated from my room at 6-7am
I said either loud mice, cat knocking over things, or flatullence
she asked what the latter was
I lifted my right leg and produced a grimaced face
she shook her head and walked away laughing
she was cute, but way too young for me
what am I saying?
she was not my type, and not that cute
Calvin and I called her "The Critter"
