most tech cos are in fact terrible businesses because rapid obsolescence makes it hard to sustain profitability in tech. Agreed, and for that reason, the technology sector should reasonably trade at a discount to the overall market rather than a premium to the overall market. Besides the rapid obsolescense problem, nearly all tech companies are going down the road of a flawed, long term business model---heavily relying on a stock option ponzi scheme to inflate earnings and performance.
