All the way up to the crash. I don't know the exact details, but he kept shorting puts as market declined in early October. His account went into a huge deficit and the firm that he worked for dumped his entire position into the Tuesday morning collapse. He was fired before the week was out and sued by his former employer for hundreds of thousands of dollars. His house was eventually sold to satisfy the loss and his wife took the kids and left him. I NEVER short puts.
