Vialta's Beamer Receives CES Award for Design and Engineering

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 15, 2003--Vialta, Inc. (OTCBB:VLTA - News), developer of unique and innovative home entertainment and communications products, received the Consumer Electronics Association's (CES) "Innovations 2003 Design and Engineering Awards" for its Beamer(TM) Phone Video Station.
Beamer instantly adds video to phone calls, enabling users to see the person they are speaking with. Beamer works with any home phone over any standard (analog) phone line, and there is no additional cost to the call.

The CES Innovation award is the second honor awarded to Beamer in the last two months. In December of 2002, Beamer received the 2003 Good Housekeeping "Good Buy" Award. The Good Housekeeping Institute's award was based on ingenuity, value and exceptional performance.
