Tigerpaw, the article (and you quoted) said that a Federal Court "barred the consideration of race in admissions". The fact is, that as the Republican Party has gotten stronger in the South, housing segregation and income disparity between blacks and whites has improved dramatically. Now the urban Northeast and Midwest are more segregated than the South, and income disparity in the Midwest is greater than the South.
