Bombardier Outlander ATV Named 'ATV of the Year'

VALCOURT, QUEBEC--JANUARY 16, 2003 - 07:00 EST
Bombardier Recreational Products is pleased to
announce that the Bombardier(TM) Outlander(TM) 400 H.O. 4X4 ATV
has been named 2003 ATV of the Year by ATV Magazine, the world's
largest All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) industry publication. This
marks the Outlander's second(1) ATV of the Year honor by a major
ATV publication since its launch. Bombardier's newest entry into
the highly competitive ATV market was chosen over new models from
all major competitors, including the 2003 Honda Rincon.

"The Outlander fits our ATV of the Year award criteria better
than any other ATV. It brings innovative engineering to a
category of ATVs that is longing for improvement. It offers
consumers a level of comfort and performance never before
available at this price," said Glenn Hansen, Editor of ATV
Magazine.

"Our goal in creating a vehicle for the 300 and 400cc segments,
which are the heart of the ATV market, was to establish a
game-changing ATV," Chris Dawson, Vice President, Marketing,
Snowmobiles, Watercraft and ATVs said. "This ATV had to redefine
consumers' expectations for a fun ride and comfort over tough
terrain. These two "ATV of the Year" honors clearly establish
that, with the Outlander, we have achieved what we set out to
do."

The Outlander 400 H.O. and 330 H.O. models offer advanced
technology and are ideal for consumers who want a sporty look and
a comfortable, superior ride in a lightweight package. Powered by
a reliable new, high performance Rotax(R) 4-TEC(TM) engine, the
Outlander introduced the highly innovative TTI(TM) (Trailing
Torsional Independent) rear suspension that provides superior
ride comfort over a broad range of terrain and conditions. This
system significantly improves rider comfort by repositioning the
two independent pivot points so that the rear wheels travel in a
predictable straight "up-and-down" line when encountering bumps.

Outlander ATVs also include Bombardier's revolutionary SST(TM)
(Surrounding Spar Technology) frame, a one-piece perimeter steel
frame that provides greater strength, structural integrity, and a
superior power-to-weight ratio. The SST delivers a narrower
bottom profile "runner", whose slide and glide action allows
Outlander ATVs to virtually "ski" across obstacles.

Standard Outlander 4x4 ATV features include constantly variable
automatic transmission (CVT), 2WD/4WD selectability, full
floorboards, and an eye-catching, molded rack design.

Bombardier Recreational Products designs, develops, builds,
distributes and markets utility vehicles, Rotax(R) engines,
Ski-Doo(R) and Lynx(R) snowmobiles, Bombardier(TM) ATVs,
Sea-Doo(R) watercraft and sport boats, as well as Evinrude(R) and
Johnson(R) outboard marine engines and Ficht(R) direct fuel
injection technology.

Bombardier Inc., a diversified manufacturing and services
company, is a world leading manufacturer of business jets,
regional aircraft, rail transportation equipment and motorized
recreational products. It also provides financial services and
asset management in business areas aligned with its core
expertise. Headquartered in Montreal, Canada, the Corporation has
a workforce of some 80,000 people in 24 countries throughout the
Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Its revenues for the fiscal
year ended Jan. 31, 2002 stood at $21.6 billion Cdn. Bombardier
trades on the Toronto, Brussels and Frankfurt stock exchanges
(BBD, BOM and BBDd.F).
