the actual awards may not be as high as the media hypes them, but still they are the motivators so lawyers become ambulance chasers. The end result is the absurd medical premiums and costs in the US you and I pay for it. Is the AMA doing it ? I do not know, but certainly the lawyers are not doing it either, they are simply taking advantage of a screwed up system where the lawyers make the rules anyway... (and then reap the rewards) chicken coop being "monitored" by a bunch of hyenas indeed you want to talk about the state of texas 250,000 limit cap and how that has improved road safety? what's to talk about ? again, one has NOTHING to do with the other... you want to improve road safety... improve the requirements to receive a license, like for example... truly learning how to drive and handle a vehicle at .. say 70 mph on a highway... road safety has to do with how one operates machinery... NOT if there is fear of some half assed lawyer who is a good actor, (and probably a good liar), performing in front of $5.00/day morons who believe them ... a good deal of the the Firestone 500 tire (and similar) accidents could have been avoided by good driving skills, not to mention better maintenance schedules on cars that belong in a junk yard rather than on the roads ... instead... the system allows to rape good standing companies based on arguments that only idiots can believe. Once again, I do not dismiss genuine control of bad companies and bad products... but the awards ? give me a break sorry... end of rant
