We, of course, see this strategy of refutation all too often. It goes something like, I would love to see reasonable disagreements but this one (whichever one is being pilloried) is well beyond unreasonable.

No doubt, so long as the Bush faction holds the proverbial reigns of power, we'll hear these laments about the sheer umitigated gall of folk who disagree in unacceptable ways. It's always the sounds those in power make. We are reasonable; it's all those others who are unreasonable.
