NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Prudential Securities has dropped coverage of all 31 semiconductor companies it covers following the departure of lead analyst Hans Mosesmann.

Among the companies that will no longer be researched at Prudential are Intel (INTC: news, chart), Texas Instruments (TXN: news, chart), AMD (AMD: news, chart), Altera (ALTR: news, chart), Xilinx (XLNX: news, chart), and STMicroelectronics (STM: news, chart).

A Prudential spokesman declined to elaborate on Mosesmann's departure, but he did say the firm was looking to replace him.

The spokesman also said that members of Mosesmann's team remain employed by Prudential.

Further, analysts covering other aspects of the semiconductor industry, like foundries and semiconductor production equipment companies, are still researching for Prudential.

A message left with Mosesmann on his cell phone was not immediately returned.

According to the National Assoc. of Securities Dealers, Mosesmann previously worked for Volpe, Whelan Brown; Needham; and Advanced Micro Devices.
