What do you think of the court decision letting stand the copyright extention?

I think that in a world where intellectual property is of ever-increasing importance, a stronger copyright isn't a bad idea. I hear the argument that copyrights impede progress, but I don't buy it. I suspect there is just as much progress from people finding better ways of doing things as that given up by not building on the past.

I think the record/film/music companies ought to be able to protect their intellectual property. I just think they haven't tried very hard until recently...
