Unless of course they want to negotiate on price

Unless of course they believe that even with potentially lower discounts (never underestimate the effect of impending Quarter/Year end on a vendor, even in a single vendor environment), the additional costs and risks of more integration warrant that.

In all the failed projects I've seen, there are two overwhelmingly common causes; scope change & integration problems. The former is in your control as the customer, the latter usually isn't, so minimising the need for it increases your chances of success.

And of course, if most of the project is in the hands of one company, be that Oracle, SAP or Microsoft, you can get away from finger-pointing syndrome.

Little consolation 10% off the headline price if the project fails or takes twice as long (and probably has higher ongoing costs).
