Answer : Can't trust the americans(plausible premise), can't trust the iraqis(point of fact), then perhaps trust the UN inspectors and Hans Blix (clearly not pro-american).

If the UN inspectors say they are undeclared chemical warheads, then it seems foolish to ignore that.

But you quote an iraqi official's words as if it was gospel. In hindsight, if you had done the same for the taliban ambassador to pakistan, wouldn't you feel sort of foolish after the fact?

The main thing is, once all the evidence is piled up to the point where it becomes very obvious to even most of the skeptical cynics (without an axe to grind), then the remedy phase of this should be simple --- surrender power or a UN sanctioned force will remove him from power.

Well, let me ask a hypothetical question. Under what conditions would there be sufficient cause to go to war in iraq?
