If you ban the DP or otherwise hobble it's use those lives will not be saved. You are sacrificing innocents to avoid killing the guilty. This is a fact.

No, you can just keep the guilty in prison and accomplish the same thing.

We put lives on a scale everyday, vaccines cost a few lives per million. The avoidance of disease and death for the 999,996 outweighs the side effects including death for the 4.

The convenience of personal mobility for millions outweighs the deaths of the 25 or 30 K who die from auto accidents.

POSSIBLE 35 or 30K

The earlier deaths of some terminal patients does not outweigh the FDAs concern with the safety of a promising new drug.

That analogy just doesn't fit.

We can disagree about where the proper balance is but the fact remains, lives are put on the scale every day.

Yes, but those decisions are based on possibilities and/or probabilities, not on absolutes. AND the decision to take the vaccine, drive the car, etc is voluntary.
