Here we have a Congresswomen complaining that there are 1 million undocumented workers in LA alone. This was back in 1993. It's interesting that she cites that they cost the state of California 2 billion yet she doesn't mention the amount that they contribute to the economy which is substantial. It is estimated that their contribution to the country as a whole is 30 billion. Consider that the three states that lead in numbers of illegals are California, Texas and New York you have to assume the lions share of that contribution goes to California. I'm suspicious of anyone who mentions the cost without pointing out the benefits. I was simply pointing out that in some parts of the world the economy has evolved around the use of undocumented workers. If they were to all go "home" tomorrow there would be a huge disruption for the businesses that have come to depend on this cheap labor source as well as the state itself.
