Fed Chairman Greenspan's house burglarized - Fed Friday January 17, 6:04 pm ET (Adds comments from police spokesman, background) WASHINGTON, Jan 17 (Reuters) - Police are investigating a burglary at the Washington, D.C., residence of Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, the U.S. central bank said on Friday. "The chairman's house was burglarized yesterday," Fed spokeswoman Michelle Smith said. "The Metropolitan police force is investigating but they have asked us not to provide any details that would impede their investigation." Greenspan, the world's most powerful central banker, lives at the residence with his wife Andrea Mitchell, who is a chief foreign affairs correspondent with NBC News. D.C. police spokesman Quintin Peterson said no one was home at the time of the burglary. He also said some items were taken, but was unable to provide any details.
