Foxlette,

Re: the History Channel is run by our government via corporations to brainwash us?

No, that is a misinterpretation of what I said. The History Channel is a corporate entity that willingly furthers the propaganda goals of the government by presenting the "official" version of the history of the U.S.-Iraqi conflict. For instance, I've never seen at any time on the History Channel, or anywhere on commercial television for that matter, a frank discussion of the duplicity that the Bush 41 team were engaged in prior to Hussein's invasion of Kuwait in 1990. The U.S. clearly indicated to Hussein that we would not intervene. Ambassador April Glaspie said as much to Hussein in an official meeting. Undersecy. of State John Kelly said the same thing in Senate hearings. Hussein invaded, assuming he had a green light from Bush. Hussein was betrayed.

Why? Because the U.S. military had lost a reason for being so parasitic on the American economy when the Soviet Union collapsed. They needed a new "enemy" to justify their bloated budgets and gouging of the American public. Hussein provided an exceptionally convenient reason to keep the military-industrial complex in profit mode. Cynical? Damn tootin'!

As to John R. MacArthur's "agenda", I would say that he is a hero of mine. A voice of honesty and truth who is engaging himself in investigative journalism that matters. Not to himself or his own self-aggrandizement. But rather to his concern about the citizens of this great nation. If you examine his oeuvre, he's always on the side of the citizen and opposed to oligarchic special interests. He's an American hero, in contradistinction to someone like the Boy King who's hellbent on selling out the American citizen to the highest bidder at every opportunity.
