Oh, man! I sympathize with you! It sounds like Silicon Valley Schools and maybe California in general has a very unsound tax problem. Makes me really appreciate Alaska's Permanent Fund dividend--but then we still have to fund local schools. My daughter's Father In Law lives in San Jose. He worked for IBM down there and designed a lot of their hardware before retiring. His house was nice but not fantastic, and it was probably at least a half million or so. He took me around and showed me some houses that must cost many millions.
