Sure these folks got lots of options, which enriched both execs and 'common' workers during the boom, but the little guys didn't get big loans (or outright gifts) from corporate coffers to cover things like exercise costs, margin calls and taxes. Many boards of directors were extremely negligent when it came to looking out for shareholder interests.
