Sorry, Bill. THere was no "myth" put forth by that source regarding life without parole! I did not note your "debunking" of that one sentence, but I certainly agree with you that all States except 6 have life without parole. In a long article quoting innumerable people, sentences can sometimes be worded in a way unintended. This sentence goes against the entire substance and form of the article, so one may safely assume that the word "some" was intended instead of "most!.

A mistake such as that does not vitiate the source--just the editing. You ought to have kept the mistake since it worked in your favour! Too bad! If it was an out and out lie as you suggest, then one would ask why! There are hundreds of other resources to edit out mistakes of grammar or typing! The fact that this mistake argues against the premise of the article is a fair enough indication that it was a mistake and not an outright LIE!!
