"Sorry, but "wrongly convicted" doesn't mean innocent. Trial errors don't amount to proof."

The evidence presented in the research of the 23 wrongfull executed was clearly of the type that would exonerate the innocent people who were executed could the evidence have appeared at trial. Death bed confessions for example with nothing to gain but a clear soul. It is true we cannot dig up the corpse and legally retry them to get the legal term "innocent" applied to them! That is the point, isn't it! The new evidence cannot help them now, can it! You can't question a corpse and they are probably not even allowed to take an oath in a courthouse.

But evidence is evidence nonetheless, which is why such research is done so that society may try to improve upon her mistakes. Yes these 23 were innocent, and any judge or jury in the land (provided they are reasonably free from prejudice) would accept the evidence as indicating innocence. There may be other reasons why people should not have been executed. But "innocence" is the most compelling reason that makes a wrongful execution wrongful. And the intended message given in the research in Stanford Law Review is that these people were indeed innocent.

"they fight their opponent's attempts to get cute with the court and to get off on technicalities."

WHAT? Did you not read the evidence about all the framing and suppression of evidence they did and how only a few were prosecuted for it? Did you not read about them hiding guns and knives from evidence?

Would you like me to put together a 20 page summation of al the crimes and ethical violations listed in the articles of the expose?? Why not read them first. It really makes one want to throw up. What a bunch of bloody crooks.
