First, I approve of the WTO decision and hope it leads the US to rescind the tariff.

But let me point out something: It is no more greedy and self-centered of the US to impose a lumber tariff than for Canadian lumberers to oppose it. We are talking profits and jobs at both ends.

Tell me: Do you believe a US lumberman starving to death is less bad than the same fate for a Canadian?

Yeah, being as an anti-American as you are, you probably do.

That's such blatant corruption, to hand an industry lobby the right not only to stifle their competitors with punitive tariffs, but to directly enrich themselves on the proceeds .... can't imagine a circumstance where that could be other than pure corruption
Bull$$$$. Assuming that dumping were going on here (a point I am hardly convinced of), the companies are the ones hurt by it. The fines can be looked at simply as recompense for the business they lost.

So you believe gov't bureaucracies don't impose fines to enrich themselves? How naive are you?
