MORE POSITIVE RESULTS FROM BRAZIL GOLD PROJECT
David H. Brett, President, is pleased to report very encouraging results from Pacific Bay Minerals' Trombetas Gold Project in the far north of Brazil's Para State within the Guyana Shield. A grid controlled soil sampling program has outlined broad zones of highly anomalous gold values. Rock samples from existing local mining sites and other showings returned values of up to 5.9 ounces of gold per ton. Pacific Bay is earning a 60% interest in 20,000 hectares from Vannessa Ventures Ltd. (VSE - VVV).
Pacific Bay believes that strong evidence to date indicates high potential for large scale, bulk minable gold deposits on its Trombetas properties. High grade gold in quartz appears related to abundant veining, vein swarms and stockwork zones within pervasively altered granitic rocks. Samples of the altered granitic host rock are highly anomalous in gold, assaying up to 0.5 grams/ton.
Mapping of the recently established 34 km grid by Pacific Bay's geologist traced three parallel drainages extensively worked by garimpeiros over distances of 1-2 km. The gold-rich workings strike north easterly and likely reflect major structural trends. Soil geochemistry results (all samples taken at 1.5-2 metre depth) show anomalous values up to several hundred metres outside the area of the workings, confirming that gold mineralization is not confined to the workings. The trend of anomalous soil geochemistry results suggest multi-directional veining and shearing. Very large volumes of alluvial quartz and altered granitic rock within the garimpeiro workings (up to 100 metres wide) are further evidence of a significant stockwork system.

Sampling and assaying of the garimpeiro tailings continues to show very high gold grades. The volume of this material is economically significant to Pacific Bay and future work will include testing and measuring of this large potential resource. Assays of tailings material sampled during this survey, have returned strongly anomalous gold-in-stream silt values up to 1.163 oz/ton Au.
Pacific Bay believes that a greatly expanded exploration program on its Trombetas gold property is now warranted, including:
- Widening of existing airstrip to accommodate larger aircraft.
- Expansion of soil grid area.
- Vibracore drilling to sap-rock and/or bedrock horizons in anomalous areas.
- Systematic geochemical of tailings.
- Trenching of anomalies, workings and showings.
- Diamond drilling.
Pacific Bay aims to complete the above work and commence drilling within 1997.END from PBM-Doug Winslow-call USA Toll Free 1-800-665-5101 or CN Toll Free 1-800-670-6570 ChucauVMS!That is why I liked it, over ONE-FIVE OUNCE PER TON AU and up half Gram Per Ton on the host rock or as we say, the source rock, for an open pit mine and maybe a new P & P Program ( maybe with a JV partner? As their others are JV'ed)( Right news is overdue anyways on this Claim Area & near Las Christinas in The Greestone Belt!) Imagine an open strike area mine down & up dips with areas of 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 Ounce per ton in the darn mine!!
