The problem with AA is it assumes a black and white world which is a thing of the past, thats my issue with it. Otherwise I'd be for it. I agree. Back in the 1960s-1970ss the vast majority of blacks had been discriminated against, severely so. We needed a fast and dirty solution that could quickly reverse that trend. AA was that. Today we can afford to be more selective in the application of the program.... less emphasis in color and more on means and background. All the same opponents of AA need to acknowledge that racism is still around, although not as prevalent as before, as evidenced by the NBC study or Trent Lott's comment.
