Ok Ben, I’ll byte- Re: No speculation on Seybold's controversial statements?

1.>>> Secret GSM1x trials ongoing in England, France and Germany? <<<

It’s gotta be the joint venture between AWE & DoCoMo. Now that they’ve got their WCDMA networks up and running successfully ahead of schedule and garnering volumes of crossovers in both the U.S. and Japan, they’re in need of another challenge. Their hope with GSM1X is to stop the further deployment of CDMA2000 networks. With both GSM1X and WCDMA they can virtually stop Qualcomm in its tracks as there is no further need for CDMA2000.

2. >>>Another 1x/GPRS ASIC manufacturer? <<<

It’s gotta be either of the two new Qualcomm ASIC licensees- Agere Systems or EoNex Technologies. None of the six incumbents have come up with anything in 10 years so it’s gotta be one of the new entrants with fresh ideas.

I did like this statement from Andy - . “You are going to see by Q3 2003 the ability to deliver…. LARGE QUANTITIES …..of handsets that work across multiple networks (MSM6300- GSM/GPRS –CDMA2000 1X) .

THE BEST IS YET TO COME-
